If you decide to assist in this project please contact me via email or phone. The phone number listed is a US
registered phone number I have setup over the internet in which you can call me at no additional expense to
you and even leave a voice mail.
Our resources and book collection capabilities are limited. If you have a small donation of books, then we ask
that you be responsible for dropping it off at an address that we designate. We will have drop off points in
Hoover, AL, Huntsville, AL, and Paducah, KY. Please contact us for more info about drop offs.
For larger donations such as those from school book drives, we will arrange for pickup of these resources.
Once the donations have been consolidated, the books will be shipped in a large overseas freight. While the
collection of books is the main aim of this project, the need is just as great for any type of teaching resources
to better equip Namibian teachers in their difficult working conditions. If we work together, and manage to fill
the freight, I will not only be able to develop the two libraries in Otavi, but also start 2-3 additional libraries in
surrounding villages!!
As you can imagine, shipping thousands of books overseas is expensive, and one of our main obstacles. If for
some reason you are unable to donate books and you, your school, church or organization would like to
contribute in another way, financial contributions would be more than helpful in putting the books in the hands
of Namibian children. If you wish to donate money, please see our Donate page.
One of the most important things to consider when collecting books to send is will these books be useable? I
appreciate your generosity and willingness to give in any measure, but please understand that many books
are just not applicable or practical to send to an African school. To ensure that there is not a reverse cost of
shipping these books to Namibia, please make sure to pay close attention to the following guidelines for
donating.
DON’T SEND
Anything above a Gr. 9 level
Anything political or religious
Non-applicable US history (ex. Biography of
George Washington, Alabama history, etc)
